Dustin was a standout football and baseball player at Sullivan South High School, and continued his career at Maryville College in both sports. Dustin has won several local CrossFit competitions and ranked 105th in 2012 and 98th in 2013 in the Central East Region in the CrossFit Open (he sat out in 2014 due to injury). With 9 years of CrossFit experience, there is no one in Johnson City, and very few in the world that have more CrossFit experience than Dustin.
Dustin is currently pursuing his MBA from Milligan College. He recently was honored as one of the “40 Under Forty” award winners in The Tri-Cities Business Journal, was named “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” in Johnson City at the 2013 Faith in the Future Awards, and won the “Multiple Location Business of the Year” at the 2013 KOSBE Awards. He started CrossFit Kingsport in 2012 and is still a partner there. He also operates a fundraising business called Fit Life Fundraising.
“Ski” was raised in Southern California, which explains why he is so cool and likes CrossFit so much. He was a multi-sport athlete, a martial artist, and rode any kind of board at high speed, whether in the ocean, on the road, or down a mountain (you know how people from California are).
Mike is a full time Captain at the Washington County / JC EMS, and is also a SWAT Medic and Flight Medic. Mike teaches our morning and mid day classes, manages our social media and website, and handles management responsibilities on his days off from EMS duties. He is husband to his lovely wife Chantale Skowronski, father to his son Jacob Skowronski, who is an Exercise Science Major at ETSU, and best friend to Sully, who is an Alaskan Malamute and the size of a small grizzly bear.
Chase currently attends East Tennessee State University where he is pursuing a degree in Microbiology. He found CrossFit a couple years ago as a way of keeping his cardio up to par. Once it kicked his ass, he fell in love. Prior to finding CrossFit, Chase enjoyed the college gym as a way of “making his muscles BIG like Arnold’s”. He holds a Level 1 Certification and is working towards his Coaches’ Prep Certification, and his CrossFit Gymnastics Cert. Chase’s ultimate goal is to compete with the elite CrossFit Athletes at the CrossFit Games. He is easily one of the region’s top athletes.
Chloe is an assistant coach and is currently pursuing her L1. She is pursuing her MBA from ETSU, where she was a 4 year scholarship golfer. She is from South Africa, and moved here to play golf. After she quit playing, she came to CFJC to learn a new sport, which she caught onto quickly. Chloe is easily one of the top females in our region, and competes in the SAGL (Southern Amateur Grid League) with the “Tennessee Ten”. She has won several local and regional competitions.
